Where is Your Faith?

Think about it!  Luke 8:22-25
Yet another cause of spiritual depression.  This deals with “the nature of faith”.  We are given the gift of faith to be saved but from there on we have to do certain things about it.
1. Gift of faith
2.  Walk of faith
3.  Life of faith
We walk by faith and not by sight.
The Lord in the boat – weary and tired – fell asleep.  We see Jesus here as man, tired and asleep but as soon as they woke Him, He showed His authority as God and spoke to the storm and it stopped.  What manner of man is this?   He is God!
We see Jesus rebuke these men for their fear and alarm because of their lack of faith.  His rebuke was because of the state of mind they were in.  Where is your faith?  He rebuked them for their agitation at Him for being asleep although He was there with them.  He marveled at their unbelief.
A Christian should never be beside their self no matter what the circumstance.  Never at your wit’s end.  Christians should always know who is in control. We should never be depressed, agitated, alarmed, frantic, or not know what to do.  These are things non-Christians do – we are different.  Phil 4:11-13
The disciples lacked self control.  The followers of Christ have no right to be in such a state because of Who is with them.  “I will never leave you or forsake you”
This state of mind implies a lack of trust and confidence in Him.  A lack of faith in His concern for us.  It means we are going to take charge ourselves because He doesn’t care or isn’t doing it quick enough.
The trial of faith – good example in Heb 11.  God gives the faith and then the faith is tried.
I Peter 1:6-7; James 1:2; Phil 1:29; John 16:33; Acts 14:22
Count it all joy when you fall into divers temptation.
