What Do The Words Study & Quiet Mean To You?

Think About It! Two words came to me this morning. The word Study and the word Quiet.  1 Thess 4:11  And that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, working with your own hands, as we command you.

The word Study in this verse is meaning to be eager, intense, diligent, prompt, to make an effort and to work at it.  The word Quiet in this verse is meaning a calm attitude and undisturbed by surroundings.

Now we think about II Tim 2:15 Study to show yourself approved of God, a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Look back at the meaning of Study and we need to ask ourselves if we are doing this? In God's eyes, are we approved?

Now think about this verse I Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God a great price (great worth, value).

Remember that the word Quiet means calm, still and peaceful. So together we think about how we need to make an effort to be diligent in learning about Christ daily and always keeping a quiet spirit as we do so for that is of great value to the Lord.  In the midst of a world that has no peace, did not Christ remain calm? Think About It!  How do we appear to Him and the world around us? Study diligently and have a quiet spirit and Jesus will be glorified in us.
