Don’t Flee Follow Me

Think about it!  Matt 16:24  Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Jonah 1:1-3  God called Jonah to go forth – showed what it was He wanted him to do…told him to do it quickly. He ran from the very presence of God and completely disobeyed Him.  Did what he wanted – the ready way is not always the right way.
Watch what happens when a man or woman of God does not do what God has commissioned them to do!
Sin brings on storms –
1:8 – God has many ways of revealing sin
1:8-12  Showing God is punishing one of his prophets for disobeying – when he repented he was willing to die in the flesh that the Spirit would live.  Pray in affliction  -God will hear and deliver you.
God always warns His people before He pours out His wrath.  God is long-suffering!
We also may at times be angry with God the way He chooses to do things because we are rebellious, selfish, prejudice, prideful, complaining, ungrateful.  Jonah angry at God for preaching to the Gentiles.
Still God strives with us  even when we grieve the Spirit.
