Thank God for the Thorns

Think about it!   You’ve probably thanked God a million times for the roses.  Teach us to value our thorns!  Thorns make you climb closer in fellowship with God, not the roses.  Through tears caused by thorns you see the rainbow (it comes after the rain).
Gen 42:36  Everything is against me.
Rom 8:28  A promise to remember.  Power comes from pressure. Pressure created by opposition.  Don’t run – endure.  Opposition is essential to maintaining true balance between forces.  The pressures of trials and testings and all the things that seem to be against us further our progress and strengthen our foundation.
Let’s thank Him for the weights as well as the wings! Press forth with patience and with faith!
God trains soldiers, not in the tents of ease and luxury but by causing them to endure lengthy marches and difficult service.  They have to wade across streams, swim through rivers, climb mountains, walk many tiring miles with heavy backpacks.  Why? To make them stronger.
Matt 10:27  The Lord leads us into dark seasons, in order to tell us things.  Often we feel useless.  What am I doing that is making a difference?  Why is the “expensive perfume” of my soul being wasted?  Answer – He desires to take you to a higher level of fellowship with Him and hear what He is saying so you can share with others.  Ps 119:151  You are near oh Lord.
Remember – some hearts, like the primrose, open more beautifully in the shadows of life.
God has a hammer, fire, and file in His workshop.  We often learn best in our darkest hours, we seek Him more persistently and listen more attentively.  Those who will be used in extraordinary ways will go through a waiting period.
Weak roots cause a tree to fall when the winds blow.  It takes time to develop deep roots and then remember the deeper the roots the less they are noticed.  A tree that is moved often is noticed more, but never admired for it’s strength and beauty.  The process of deep roots is slow, but the end result is irreplaceable and invaluable.  Mark 4:1-41; Eph 3:1-2; Col 2:1-23
