Should You Pray For Patience?

Think About It! How many people have you heard say never pray for patience? I have heard this for years and I never agreed for the following reasons: first of all it is a major characteristic of Jesus, second we see the value of having His patience alive in us during hard times and during seasons of waiting upon Him to guide us etc . Luke 21:19 In your patience possess your souls. James 1:4 But allow patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire wanting nothing. When we have His patience alive in us our attitude is Christlike, we will see His humility and not our pride. Patience protects us from sin and keeps a grateful heart no matter what our situation is. Some say if you pray for patience bad trouble comes, well trials on earth are coming anyway -think about it, even Jesus said in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Think About It! I need His mature patience to make it through cheerfully not bitter, angry, resentful or unloving, but realizing troubles are an opportunity to glorify Him. I pray for His Life of patience to be formed in me that people see Jesus and not my old impatient nature. How about you, will you think about this? We have a choice!
